2021 - 22 Season Registration

We are now registering players/skaters at the Learn-to-Skate/Play, Mite (U8), Squirt (U10), Peewee (U12), and Bantam (U14) levels for the 2021-22 season.

Welcome to the new hockey season.  The KYHA Board has been working tirelessly to coordinate all the pieces necessary to move forward this winter.  Suffice to say, it has not been easy.  It will come as no surprise that there are still some unknowns and we will work thru them together.  The 2 most significant are:

  1. Proctor Ice.
    1. Recent communication with Proctor has been very encouraging and we have been asked to submit our ice rental time requests.  Although this is not a commitment it gives us reason to be very optimistic!
  2. Player Registrations for each age group.
    1. Many of our players have made commitments to play elsewhere again this season.

Moving forward we plan to offer “Recreational” hockey this winter.  Our goal is to provide a program that all commers will be able to take advantage of.  We will be grouping players into 2 age groups for practices and intramural games plus Learn to Skate on Sundays.  Mites and Squirts will combine as one group with Pee Wee and Bantam making up the second group.  This will give us the flexibility to adjust as registrations come in and we progress into the winter.  Scrimmages can be scheduled between the two main teams, combing LTS and Mites, Squirts and Pee Wees, or with other NH teams of similar ability.  We will simply have to see who shows up and remain flexible.  In any event, we will have a lot of fun while improving our hockey skills.

Announcements:

  • Please be conscious of driving in and out of Proctor's Field House Lane as we now have two dormitories and residences that require students and faculty to cross the road multiple times throughout the day and night.  The speed limit is 10 mph due to the volume of pedestrians and blind spots around the curve by the Dining Commons.  Thank you!

In Memoriam:

This past December, KYHA lost one of it's founders, Dick Brady.  As a founding member of KYHA as well as many other local organizations, Dick is remembered as a valued member of our community and our grief is shared by many.  Our organization was named as a chosen charity for those who wish to contribute in his name. Send donations to KYHA PO Box 1771, New London, NH 03257. THANK YOU!
